Another game on the new Fortress surface and this time it played like it normally does which is, of course, fantastic.
Scottish Power were our opponents this time and we assembled a squad of sixteen for the big game.
The improved surface meant that there wasn’t as much sliding about but this was a pretty uninspiring game as neither team played particularly well.
Power defended very well, particularly in central defence, and we struggled to create any worthwhile chances.
It took until the second half before we finally broke the deadlock when LHD headed a cross towards goal which the keeper palmed away but the ball fell onto the onrushing Gary’s foot and we were ahead.
Not long after this Gee burst forward from the back and expertly curled a shot from thirty yards into the top corner to make the final score 2-0.
Not the best of games but our opponents showed they have improved from our previous two games against them and, despite not troubling David in goals too much, they were well organised.
Again both teams made it back to The Langside for hospitality and a good day was had by all.
