MacDonald Rovers were our hosts in Paisley for this game in the revitalised One For The Road League (first started in 2009).

Boss McNaught was on international duty in Germany along with Ross and Lenny so Assistant Manager Wee Al was in charge of the team.

This game ended up a comfortable victory but was overshadowed by a bad injury to CC after about 70 minutes when he was on the end of a dreadful tackle which connected with his knee. He limped off and later went to the hospital and has a broken bone plus ligament and cartilage damage. A long lay off is in the offing for our vice-captain and we wish him a speedy and successful recovery.

Ironically CC had the first chance in the game, for us (!), but he couldn’t get on the end of a corner properly and the ball hit off him and into the keeper’s arms.

MacD played well in the first half with the ball at their feet but eventually we took charge and Sebo headed home a corner from Adam to put us ahead.

Graeme then made it 2-0 when he blasted home a shot into the top corner from just inside the box after good work by Sebo.

Craig got a third before half time with a 35 yarder into the top corner as we made the game safe at the break.

In the second half Andy D hit the post twice and the bar as we ran riot and Graeme made it four with a low shot before Adam scored a fifth against his favourite opponents.

Sebo got his head to a free kick from Andy to make it six before CC got injured and he eventually hobbled to the changing rooms.

Another goal from Adam and a typical Ally goal (cross cum shot) made it an 8-0 victory.

Boss Al even came on for the last couple of minutes as he reckoned the result wasn’t in doubt.

A good performance and result but all overshadowed by the injury to CC.
