We caught up with midfield dynamo Adam Ellsworth to preview this Saturday's league clash with PSJ as QPSFC look to remain top of the league.

This is your first full season with the Club, how are you finding things?

“I’ve been made to feel very welcome since joining so that’s always a bonus especially as you come in to a new team and don’t know many people. We’ve had a good start to the season and work hard in training week in week out and I hope it continues and perhaps we may have something to show for it at the end.”

Talk us through your hat-trick against Alloa at Lesser

“The hat-trick was unexpected. Been told my first goal was a deflection, the second a scuff and the third a lucky 1-2 off their keeper. I still maintain it was three well taken goals although Gaz and RD may have something different to say.”

What about your debut at Dunfermline last season, any fond memories particularly on the bus home?

“Fortunately no memories from my first fun bus and i think the less said the better on that one, although others are still happy to remind me about it ha ha!”

Good judges, and Andy Boy, think you’re in with a shout for Player of the Year already, is it because you’ve moved from full back to central midfield that has brought out the best in you?

“Quite possibly, never expected to be playing midfield but was more than happy to play where the gaffer wanted me and I have to put my recent form down to him for having faith and continuing to play me there. Must admit I think I’ve found my new position and prefer it to right back now but don’t tell Jamesy!”

The Diet IBF have labelled you “Rolls Royce”, is it always good to have a nickname?

“Looking on the group chat, I don’t have the worst nickname so I can’t really complain. Just need to keep my head down and hope it doesn’t get changed anytime soon.”

Finally, what do you think of your mum having a song named after her before you?

“Fair play to my mum, she had the baws.... I mean bottle to go up and dance with Andy and Galindo at the Race Night so she deserves it. The dancing was questionable though.”
