A controversial game against the old guys from Garrowhill.

These games are always high scoring affairs and this one was no difference. However the games always have niggle in them as our charismatic opponents like to have a word or two and generally claim for everything.

This game was no different except we started superbly and in only five minutes Adam crossed for Sebo to head in the opener.

Five minutes later and Adam sent a through ball to Sebo who beat the offside trap to make it 2-0.

Garrowhill pulled a goal back a minute later from a header but from the kick off Gary set up Del who cut the ball back to Sebo and the big man had a six minute hat trick.

We were running over the top of Garrowhill but they were complaining about every decision and trying to play offside every time we attacked, to no effect.

Craig sent a pass to Del, who again was too fast for the away defence, and he ran on and beat man after man before rounding the keeper to score.

A minute later Craig fired a shot under the keeper and we were running riot.

That should have set us up for a resounding victory but instead one of the Garrowhill guys head butted one of our players off the ball and this started a melee which ended with three players being sent off. Despite the involvement of more than one Garrowhill player we were the team who were left with nine men and, in hindsight, the game should have stopped there and then.

Sebo did get a fourth goal with a shot from outside the area but our interest in the game had gone, particularly as the main Garrowhill culprit was allowed to stand on the sidelines watching.

With a man extra Garrowhill ran away with second half although Del struck the bar and Adam brought out a save from the keeper as we tried to get the victory we deserved.

Not a day to remember and that’s the end of high scoring games against Garrowhill, their loss.
